I continuously strive to enhance my designs and add more value to my customers' purchases. For me, it's more than completing a transaction - my purpose is to deliver quality over quantity. While time is often equated with money, my motivation 'WHY' behind creating beautiful wreaths goes beyond mere financial gain.
When embarking on a grapevine wreath design, I follow a thorough process outlined below. The meticulous attention to detail typically requires 3 to 5 hours to complete the initial step in preparation for the design execution. This personal touch ensures that leaves and debris are removed, minimizing deterioration and maintaining structural integrity. This careful attention to detail also assures a clean and well-preserved final creation.
A typical grapevine is characterized by a diverse arrangement of stems, leaves, and curly tendrils that bear a striking resemblance to corkscrews. These features can be found both within the vines itself and protruding outward. A grapevine wreath retains a natural, organic appearance, complemented by a dry texture that adds to its unique allure. Many designers choose to work with the wreath in its original state or make only minimal adjustments, recognizing its inherent beauty.
At Angie Wreaths I add a personal touch that guarantees the removal of leaves and debris, as well as the trimming of protruding vines, stems, and curly tendrils minimizing deterioration and maintaining the wreath's structural integrity over time.
Why do I go thru this process? My opinion is if I was to stick stems, etc. into a grapevine not cleaned thoroughly those dried leaves and other debris within the grapevine would breakdown in time and crumble leaves would fall to the floor. Also, causing your arrangement to shift or pieces to fall out in the process.
I believe that by paying attention to these details, I can create wreaths that not only look beautiful but also remain intact and stunning for a long time.
During the cleaning process, I utilize a range of tools, such as a paint brush, to clear any remaining loose debris after the initial removal.
I inspect the back side of the grapevine for any protruding knots and sand them down to ensure they are smoothed out, preventing any damage to the door, wall, and furniture surfaces.
Following the cleaning process, I secure the grapevine with floral wire to reduce gaps and enhance its sturdiness. This minimizes the visibility of any openings, making it easier for me to insert products into the grapevine.
In the final stage of the process, a series of steps are taken that enhances the grapevine color, resulting in a deeper and richer beauty of the finished product.
Taking the time to enhance the beauty of the grapevine allows you to enjoy its natural beauty for an extended period. Through this process, the wreath transitions from a dry and brittle appearance to a vibrant hue.
Each of these steps is a product of my devotion and hard work. After investing my utmost effort in the process, I am thrilled to reveal an easy method to maintain the beauty of the grapevine.
